Exploring Global Pharmacy: APU Hosts an International Summer Course Stop in Semarang
SEMARANG – Agung Putra University (APU) became one of the international academic meeting points during the Summer Course in Pharmacy organized by Universitas Pancasila on Thursday, July 23, 2026. With the theme "Bridging Traditional Wisdom and Advanced Biotechnology: The Future of Global Pharmacy," the program brought participants to several cities in Indonesia to gain academic experiences while exploring diverse perspectives in the field of pharmacy.
In Semarang, APU was selected as one of the hosts for the program. The presence of participants from Universitas Pancasila and Trinity University of Asia, Philippines, brought a different atmosphere to APU’s academic environment and provided an opportunity for members of the APU academic community to interact with participants from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.
APU as a Space for Sharing Knowledge in Pharmacy
The activities at APU gave participants an opportunity to explore the university’s academic environment while taking part in learning sessions and discussions related to the theme of the Summer Course. The meeting brought together participants from Indonesia and the Philippines in an academic setting that encouraged the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
The theme "Bridging Traditional Wisdom and Advanced Biotechnology" provided a basis for discussing how traditional knowledge can be considered alongside developments in science and technology. In the context of pharmacy, the discussion opened opportunities to explore the potential of natural resources and knowledge developed within local communities from the perspective of modern science.
The interaction among participants, academics, and members of the APU community took place in an open and welcoming atmosphere. Differences in background were not a barrier but an opportunity to exchange perspectives on education, developments in pharmaceutical science, and learning experiences in a cross-cultural environment.
For APU, the program was an opportunity to introduce its academic environment while building connections with educational institutions from Indonesia and abroad.
One Stop in a Broader Academic Journey
The activities at APU were part of the Summer Course in Pharmacy organized by Universitas Pancasila, which took place across several cities, including Jakarta, Cikarang, Semarang, Tawangmangu, and Yogyakarta. After completing their activities in Semarang, the participants continued their journey to the next destination in the program.
Although APU was only one of the stops, hosting the Summer Course provided the university with an opportunity to take part in an academic program involving participants from different countries. The meeting also expanded opportunities for APU to interact with students and academics from other institutions.
For APU, this experience is part of its efforts to build an academic environment that is open to international knowledge and experience exchange. Through academic activities like this, the university continues to create opportunities for its academic community to engage with diverse perspectives and networks beyond the APU environment.
