SEMARANG - Agung Putra University (APU) continues to strengthen its global presence through concrete international initiatives. The university, known for its "Empowering Science Tech" tagline, successfully hosted a series of activities during a four-day official visit by a delegation from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), held from 25 to 28 January 2026.

The visit by the USIM delegation to Semarang was more than a formal meeting between universities from two countries. The highlight of the four-day visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between APU and USIM.

The strategic agreement provides a formal framework for both universities to work together in strengthening the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) at the international level.

Cross-Border Academic Collaboration

During their visit to APU, the USIM delegation took part in in-depth discussions and had the opportunity to directly observe the university's research environment and learning facilities. The meetings were held in a warm and productive atmosphere, covering various opportunities for collaborative programs that can be implemented in the near future.

Through the agreement, both universities are committed to turning the partnership into concrete programs. The areas of collaboration include student and faculty exchange programs, providing participants with opportunities to gain learning experiences in a multicultural environment, as well as joint research and publications that bring together the expertise of researchers from APU and USIM.

In addition, both institutions agreed to regularly organize international academic activities, including collaborative seminars and workshops involving academics from both countries.

A Strong Step Toward a Global Campus

The four-day international collaboration initiative demonstrates APU's continued efforts to build an inclusive higher education environment with a strong global outlook. Through its close partnership with USIM, APU aims to provide students and academics with broader international perspectives and opportunities.

The warm and meaningful series of activities concluded with a ceremonial exchange of souvenirs and a group photo, marking the beginning of a new chapter in strategic collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia in the field of higher education.
